Antique 19c JAPY FRERES FRENCH CARRIAGE MANTLE PENDULUM BRASS CLOCK ENAMEL FACE Picture(s) and Description:

This auction is for an original antique Japy Freres French carriage mantle clock dating from the 1880's. The clock features high quality French beveled cut glass, solid brass body and an enamel face. It works if you push the pendulum and then stops. I am sure a standard service can easily make this clock work. Comes with the original key and the pendulum does not have the mercury inside it. Signed on the back with the Medallion of Japy Freres Gde. Med. de Hounneur and "Made in France". The clock is all original and has the original Japy Freres high quality 8 day time and strike two train movement striking on the hour and half-hour. Serial number is 4037-4-11. Overall condition is very nice for its age. Each piece other than the front has some sort of nick or chip on the edge. One of the side pieces has a small stress crack in the lower corner and is not missing the piece. The brass is in excellent shape with no cracks or dents. Original patina is great and can be polished. The face is also in great shape with no chips or cracks. Hands are in great shape with no issues. Overall a very nice original clock. Measures approx. 10 inches tall by 6 inches wide and 5 inches deep. Weight unpacked is 7 pounds 9 ounces. Very rare clock and is a must for any collector. This was found stored away at a recent 90 year estate and was safely stored away for years. The glare spots are from the lights reflection and NOT on the actual surface of the item(color is very nice). Good luck and feel free to email me with any questions.
