This is a SUPERIOR example of an E. N. Welch Parlor Mantle Clock in wonderful 100% ALL ORIGINAL condition. It is a very classy mantle clock in need of a warm loving home. It is quite old and made circa 1886. It has a signed "E N Welch Mfg. Co. (on the front of the movement)" 8-day time, alarm and strike movement which counts the hours on the hour on a gong and sounds the alarm on a BRASS bell. This clock was made especially for another company for resale, similar to what Wal-Mart does today. The movement is in perfect running order. The movement runs very well and keeps good time. E N Welch clocks are highly collectable and was known for making quality clocks. The case is extremely beautiful including the original finish! In fact the whole clock is beautiful from the original dial to the base. This clock also has an alarm feature – sounds a loud alarm on a bright sounding bell. This clock no doubt faithfully woke the entire family for many many years. The dial is original and is crisp and beautiful and in superior almost like new condition. The wavy glass is original with the original fancy reverse painting design in perfect condition – quite rare indeed! Very wavy with seeds. It has an adjustment for fast and slow on the original fancy pendulum which can be turned at the bottom. (See picture) Complete with a new key. Runs great! The clock is large and measures 25 inches high, 5 ½ inches deep and 15 inches wide. This clock is original and looks pretty much like it did when it was new well over 100 years ago. (See picture) These antique clocks amaze me - Could you imagine any other consumer product still working after 125 years! And the truly amazing thing with proper care they will work easily past the next 100 years, with this clock going well beyond that! Antique Clocks are a Fine Investment.
