Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 UHRENFABRIK UNION SYSTEME GLASHUTTE The subject of this review is an interesting collectible specimen of the men’s timepiece 'SYSTEME GLASHUTTE' from one of the world’s premier watch companies, whose watches always differed by quality, reliability, accuracy. This watch of Glashütte style is a very successful combination of strict classics and good quality. This admirable men’s timepiece features a very attractive white ORIGINAL porcelain enamel dial with a little damage of enamel at the edge of the dial and one little scratch that is visible under the close inspection. The original double sunk face features a 60 minute checkered outer track border, black Arabic numerals, original blue steel hands of Breguet-style and a slightly sunken sub-second's dial with 60 second outer chapter. The dial is signed 'SYSTEM GLASHUTTE'. The case of this remarkable timepiece is also unusual; it is covered by silver and has double staining. Lateral parts of the front and back cover have pinkish color. It’s gilt but a little shabby. This beautiful case matches very well with this elegant dial. This is a Silver watch with a set of antique silver hallmarks. The inside of the case lids is stamped 0.800. There is also Swiss (Wood Grouse) and German (Crescent Moon/Crown) silver hallmarks, which are used in conjunction with a maker's mark and a decimal silver standard mark. The back lid has a wonderful patina and a very beautiful engraved free spot for the monogram. This admirable watch has a four-piece, double hinged case. The existence of an inner dust cover lid is a good sign of a quality watch. It was used to protect the mechanism from dust and debris and to provide an extra layer of protection from shock or moisture. The inner case lid has medals from the prestigious exhibitions where this watch took part, and the inscriptions: ‘ANCRE – SPIRAL BREGUET – 15 RUBIS- LEVEES VISIBLES’. This unique watch is mechanical and completely original. The original movement with 15 cleaned genuine jewels was very well saved, considering age of this watch. Mechanism has been recently serviced to ensure it winds and sets smoothly while keeping great, accurate time. The winding crown is in very good shape and operates properly. Diameter watch: 51 mm Thickness watch: 14 mm The timepiece is in working condition, well hold time. I think this watch is really one of the more interesting and collectible watches that without a doubt incorporate all the best German virtues. History: The history of GLASHUTTE watch-making started in 1845 in Saxony region of Germany, when Ferdinand Adolph Lange received a state loan and established the first GLASHUTTE watch manufactory. He drew significant support from some watchmakers, such as Ernest Kasiske, Ludwig Strasser, Ludwig Strasser, who joined the company and became founding fathers of the Glashutte precision pocket watch which gained a worldwide fame. After Lange's death in 1875, Moritz Grossman formed Deutsche Uhrmacherschule ("German Watchmaking School"). As the result Glashutte gained notoriety for producing high-quality traditional yet innovative mechanical timepieces. Realizing that not everybody could afford purchasing high quality timepieces produced by Glashutte, Johannes Dürrstein established the Glashutter Uhrenfabrik UNION in 1893 and concentrated on producing inexpensive Glashutte quality timepieces, by applying non-precious metals while maintaining their renowned accuracy. RETURN POLICY: If you are not satisfied by your purchase, please communicate with me, and we will obligatory discuss and resolve any created situation.
