What are you looking for ?

THIS FINE CLOCK WILL TAKE YOUR BREATH AWAY! This is an EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL VERY RARE 100% ALL ORIGINAL example of a Seth Thomas WHITE ADAMANTINE Mantle Clock in wonderful ALL ORIGINAL NEAR PERFECT condition. This is truly a great clock super great, "not messed around with" inside and out. The case is extremely beautiful with WHITE ADAMANTINE (RARE & not painted) all around in 99.9% condition. (See pictures) This is very rare as usually this type of finish is all cracked with pieces missing. Also very rare that it is white. One of the very few all original white adamantine clocks we’ve ever seen! It is a very classy mantle clock in need of a warm loving home. It was made circa1890. It has a SIGNED clean HEAVY DUTY "Seth Thomas Clock Co" 8-day time and strike movement which chimes the half hour on a sweet sounding bell and strikes the hour on the hour with a mellow, beautiful sound on a cathedral gong. It is a very strong runner! The movement runs very well and keeps good time. The movement was just cleaned, oiled, pivots polished and bushings added where needed. This clock will not need servicing for many years to come, and is ready for the next 100 years! This is a labor intensive service, with many clockmakers charging 250.00 and up. We recommend having it oiled every 2 to 3 years to keep it in tip-top shape! With the purchase of this clock for an additional $ 2.25 we will include an oiler kit with a professional oiler loaded with enough oil to oil approximately 50 clocks with easy instructions so you could even do it yourself! The Seth Thomas Clock Company was started in 1810 by Seth Thomas Sr. and has been known for making high quality clocks. With this clock being one of the very best models with the number 89 movement. Seth Thomas is well known for their “Adamantine” mantel clocks, which were made starting in 1882. Adamantine is a celluloid veneer, glued to the wood case. Adamantine veneer was made in black and white, and in colored patterns such as wood grain, onyx and marble. Adamantine veneer was developed by the Celluloid Manufacturing Company of New York City, and was covered by U.S. Patent number 232,037, dated September 7, 1880. Seth Thomas Clock Company purchased the right to use the adamantine veneer in 1881. The case is very beautiful and perfect with its original finish! I doubt if the clock has been worked on much as the screws and screw holes for the movement are tight, with no additional screw holes. The ORIGINAL SIGNED paper dial is in SUPERIOR condition, aging to a nice patina. Many times the paper dials are worn away and have had to be replaced. It has an adjustment for fast and slow on the dial which can be turned by the small end of the Large Seth Thomas double ended key, this way you don’t need to take the clock down from its shelf to adjust it for slow and fast. The metal around the dial (solid brass) is original (no extra screw holes – no dents etc.). The hands are original and perfect (see picture). The back door is original and perfect – fits correctly and the ORIGINAL hook works well. Has part of the original jeweler’s paper label where it was first sold! The movement is signed (see picture). Complete with the original heavy (make the timekeeping very accurate) Seth Thomas pendulum and a SETH THOMAS large double ended key –one end for adjusting the time for slow and fast (both keys works great). This clock runs really great! The clock measures 11 inches high, 7 inches deep and 14 ½ inches wide. Again, this is the same clock it was when it was new – no replaced anything and very rare! All the decorations are original and perfect – including the feet and watch lions! Imagine having a 100+ year old car with nothing replaced! These antique clocks amaze me - could you imagine any other consumer product still working after nearly 100 years! And the truly amazing thing with proper care they will work easily past the next 100 years, with this clock going well beyond that! If you are looking for an antique clock that has all its original parts and looks like it was cherished its whole life and is very high quality, and is unique and beautiful - this is it! Antique Clocks are a Fine Investment. Each one has a unique quality, as well as appreciating in value and beauty with age. You will become attached to your antique clocks and they will become a meaningful and important part of your life adding untold joy each day you own them. They can be handed down from one generation to another as they increase daily in value. Antique clocks serve many purposes other than being useful in telling time, decorative in your home, a valuable asset in your estate and above all a faithful servant and friend which will be true to you to the end of time. This clock will be packed very very carefully by our award winning packing department (my wife Donna - receiving a perfect "10" from a gracious customer) to insure a safe delivery and the buyer is to pay $23.50 for shipping, packing and ins. I will gladly answer any emails promptly. I have always hated that "reserve" when I have bid myself so this fine clock has no reserve and a very very (gulp) low starting bid. We love these clocks and I will be glad to help you set up your new clock, or answer questions long after the sale via email. We try to describe these clocks as accurately as we can, and include lots of pictures, (usually 12 or more) using just about every angle. We go over them thoroughly, and if they're dirty or need overhauling, we clean and overhaul them. If you expect an antique clock to look brand new, which they usually don't, please don't bid on them. Antiques, if they've had normal use, will have age-appropriate wear, which adds character rather than detracting. (WAY TOO much wear will, of course, detract.) Older clocks had to be transported over rough, unpaved roads in horse and buggy, buckboards, and maybe even Conestoga wagons. We test them out here before shipping and guarantee they will work for you, but due to shipment trauma, (why do some UPS and USPS people feel they have to treat packages so roughly?) there may be small adjustments necessary, which we are glad to help you with. We include several pages of setup/adjustment instructions, help via emails and do phone surgery! In extreme cases we ask folks to send the clock back to us to adjust for them and we return them ASAP at our expense. We also offer a clock oiler (at our cost, with the purchase of a clock) and instructions for oiling your own clock, should you choose to do that. Pay Pal accepted. Thank you very much for looking. A careful inspection is done each and every time during the packing process by "Wild Thing" Master Packing Kitty EBAY SITE SECURITY PROVIDED BY CJ KITTY (trained watch cat) (always vigilant) Our Purchasing Department travels throughout the United States searching for the "perfect clock"! Here's "the family" travelin' to the next clock destination A Highly Skilled Technician (AKA Wild Thing) checks the movement one last exhausting time to be sure all is right before being carefully placed back in its case. Some well deserved rest after a long day at the office Here is our newest addition to the team; "Miss Kitty"! Rescued from the "pound". She specializes in UNpacking and spreading things about. Also enjoys chewing on CJ's tail. Miss Kitty is getting grown up! She likes to "help" with answering emails. Here she is, after a grueling lesson in "computer 101".
